Dear Friends

Max and I at Vegan Voice have been going through some major life changes. Some of you will know that recently I was bitten twice by a highly venomous snake. I made it through but it was the catalyst I needed to listen to my inner voice and stop ignoring the signs. We now know it is time to end VV.

For a long time (seems like our whole lives), Max and I have been battling our anger and depression over the state of the world. That anger has now gone. Now we need to travel a different road.

During the last year we’ve increasingly felt that bad news was engulfing us so that we could not do our job properly. VV has always been a labour of love. We never managed to convert the masses, but we spoke from the heart, told the truth and always kept a righteous passion burning on behalf of Earth and animals.

In our 25 years together, Max and I have had the great good fortune to walk the same path at the same time. So I speak for him, too, when I say it’s been an honour and a privilege to be a part of your lives. We hope you will not judge us too harshly for trying to preserve our sanity.

Please bear with us while we close down VV. We know we owe many of you refunds, and we hope you will forgive us if we are a little slow. We never earned much more than the dole from publishing VV, so it may be it will take us several months to be able to cover the money owed. Also, I am not much help to Max right now, as I am in slow recovery mode.

We are here if you need to contact us. Please know that we will always be immensely grateful for the opportunity of working with and on behalf of so many like-minded, compassionate souls.

Yours sincerely

Sienna

ABOUT VEGAN VOICE

Do you believe that we, as humans, have a moral responsibility to our environment, to treat it with care and respect? Do you think that other animals have the right to enjoy life without fear of human abuse?

The benefits of a plant-based vegan diet are enormous, whether looked at from a health, environmental or ethical perspective. If you are concerned about any of the following:

- inhumane treatment of animals
- your health
- family members suffering from, or at risk of developing, heart disease/diabetes/cancer/ other common diseases
- climate change
- world hunger and global food crisis
- environmental problems such as deforestation, oceanic dead zones, water shortages and more

then Vegan Voice is the magazine for you.

According to a recent report in the Journal of the Worldwatch Institute, animal farming produces over half of Earth's greenhouse gas emissions - more than all coal-fired power stations and more than all the cars and aeroplanes in the world.

Our food choices carry a larger environmental footprint than any other activity in our lives.
Our food choices are the biggest contributor to climate breakdown.
Our food choices are leading to unfair use of the world's resources and keeping hungry people hungry.
Our food choices are responsible for the suffering and deaths of more than 70 billion animals every year.

If you want to join millions around the globe who are working towards a sustainable future for the planet, as well as fair use of current resources for all Earth citizens, Vegan Voice
is the magazine for you.

A year’s subscription costs just $AU25.
